Are You Aware of The Procedure of FUE Hair Transplant?

The Follicular Unit Extraction method or the FUE is a procedure of removing or harvesting hair from a donor area in a follicular unit hair transplant process. In the FUE hair transplant procedure, a small area is circled following an incision around the follicular unit parting it from the nearby tissue. The unit is then taken out or pulled from the scalp leaving behind a hole.

This exact process is carried out until the time the hair surgeon has harvested sufficient follicular units required for the hair restoration process. The procedure can take a couple of hours or carried over for few consecutive days. The donor area where incisions are made heals within the course of a week or ten days. This method of donor area harvesting, and removing the follicular units directly from the scalp is exactly what differentiates FUE hair transplant from a FUT or Follicular unit transplant, where the hair from the donor area is detached in one strip and is later cut into a single follicular unit.

Before the hair grafts are harvested, small recipient sites are marked in the bald portion of the scalp with the help of suing a very fine needle. The follicular units are then positioned in the recipient area where it will grow into hair follicles. The making of recipient areas and the placement of the follicular unit grafts is necessarily similar in both the FUE and the FUT hair treatments. The only major difference that lies in the approach is the impression of the donor portion and the quality and quantity of hair grafts acquired with every technique.

The FUE hair transplant procedure is a very useful technique for those who suffer serious hair fall problems, have healed improperly from strip harvesting procedure or usually have a tight scalp. The FUE hair transplant procedure does not leave a scar, so it is extremely recommended for patients who want short hair. It is also advantageous for the people who are into strenuous routines, people from theatre, public figures, etc., because it helps to restart the routine activities soon after the procedure is over.
